January, 2009
We went back to Bisbee for a little weekend trip.
It was January, but had great weather, about 66 each day, clear, and no wind.
We stayed at the Queen Mine RV Park. It is a small (24 sites) very friendly, and clean park. It over looks a the old town of Bisbee, and is a short walk to town, maybe 10 minutes.
Be sure to click on the underlined links for information about the RV Park, and Queen Mine tour.

Looking down at the Queen Mine entrance.
Getting the gear on. They give you a helmet, yellow slicker, and a light with a battery pack.
Donna, all geared up.
Ready to go.
Heading into the mine.
Miners would dump ore into the chutes from above, and the card would be filled, and pulled out by mules.
The drills were ran with compressed air, and there were huge compressors on the top of the mine.
Another group heading out.
The Queen mine is a horizontal mine, and even though you have the feeling that you are going down, your not.
The is a Supervisors bicycle. They would use these to check the different areas of the mine.
The is what the mines used when mother natured called. Makes the Class B bathrooms look pretty good.
This is an example of a blast wall. dynamite would be put in the holes, fuses lit, and then get the hell out!
This sign shows the different signals that were used in the mine.
